Based between Sydney and the Central Coast photographer James Mills started out as a Commando in the Australian Army. While working in Iraq in 2004 he picked up a camera and began documenting the sites around him. Capturing those images awoke an urge to become a photographer.

On arriving back in Australia, James left the military and pursued a career as a fashion photographer, learning the trade assisting some of Australia’s best image-makers. James works for a diverse range of clientele. James is as comfortable shooting on location as he is in a studio or travelling the world. Some of his other interests include free diving and paragliding. James also holds a CASA remote pilots licence and operators certificate for operating drones commercially.
